They stole my truck, then we found it...

These are probably the best bet. The only problem is that they dont fit the clutch pedal. At least for my old 2nd gen 4runner I had. Havent tried my pickup but im sure its the same

If you have renters insurance it might cover the stuff in the truck if it was stolen in the parking lot. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Good luck with making it more secure.
Another idea is you could take the wheels off with you where ever you go. It makes it almost impossible to move unless someone brings extra wheels, but if you take the whole hub too, that helps. Not many people carry spare wheels AND hubs.

I live in Washington too. And alot of toyota's get stolen.
Personally the guys ive met who have done it. If they want ur truck there gonna get it.
#1 rule is build a kill switch to your vehicles fuel system so they wont have enough gas to get far.
#2 also build a kill switch to ur ignition and u can turn off ur ignition. switch and make a push button somewhere even.
#3. alot of toyota thiefs have keys to certain year ignitions that is basically like a universal key its kinda sad =/. Just be safe and im sorry ur truck got stolen ive had people try to steal mine and they didnt like me coming outside with a 12Gauge in my hand...

dang... that sux dude.... My rigs will both start with a small screwdriver, and I never bother to lock them... I do however have the ignition cut-off switch, and stickers on both rigs that say : I <3 Guns.... deterent enough I guess...
FWIW both my rigs look like they have been to hell and back on numerous occasions.... I'm pretty sure ppl would b terrified to drive them... maybe thats what keeps thieves away.... I mean... I can park the thing in south boston doors unlocked and all, and no1 ever messes with them... lol

A hidden kill switch, I would stay away from anything that is discussed on a forum like this, scumbags come and look online for ideas. Do some research and find a good hiding spot for the switch and your good to go. Have had mine installed for years and no issue's

That sucks man. Never had any of my rigs broken into fortunately.
I've been putting it off for a while now but my plan is to add a 130db siren in the cab to activate with my existing alarm. 130db is painful and can cause permanent hearing damage. Try listening to that in a confined space. I work for an electrical contractor that does some high security work (state prisons, mental institutions), and sometimes unbearable sound is the best deterrent.
On top of that, I plan on adding a second battery in one of the rear storage compartments that will continue to power the alarm if the main battery is disconnected. Maybe even a third to backup the backup.

Sorry to hear you got hit man... at least you got your truck back... all you lost was stuff and that is easier to replace than a whole vehicle.
Any vehicle contents are usually covered by your home owner's / renter's ins. policy unless there is a specific rider excluding them... check ins. regs. in your area.
In my experience the more obvious you make it that you have something worth hiding the more likely you are to have a break-in... def. lock all your doors and don't leave your wallet/cell/ipod visible but don't go crazy either...
If some dumb tweaker wants your stuff they're gonna try to get it anyway whatever you do...
a kill switch/alarm are all good ideas... some alarms include a FP kill switch option but as with everything they can be got around...
you can usually replace an ignition key cylinder with a higher security version from an lock co. or maybe adapt one from another mfg. a professional locksmith would be able to advise on this.
here's a simple-ish cheap idea... get one of those old style foot button high beam switches and install it on the firewall out of sight say between the brake/clutch near where the steering column passes thru. wire your ignition through it... when you park click the switch off and the ignition won't work... IK it won't stop a determined pro thief but it should stop the punk kid/tweakers...
