Im thinking about doing a 3" front 4" on my rig. Im worried that it'll sit too tall though. I can see that yours has a body lift. but what can i do to make it not look so "sky high" and run 35s?

hey drew how are you liking TG sofar? kinda falling back to TG again thinking it might not be toobad lol i dont see the springs saging toomuch cuz i have a 22re and no winch or bumper. honestly allpro is twice as much and TG is looking better all the time 3" kit would be good with 35"s for me. oyah how do you like the truetrac upfront? im not sure what to do about traction in the front yet. might leave mine open for a while but whats the point of sas without it locked right lol

It'll sit 2" lower than mine does. 3-4 will be fine. which will really be more like 4-5 or a tad bit more. But perfect for 35's

I like it, no complaints Other than the cheap china bearings but hey, all the other SAS kits dont come with rebuild kits and cost more.. It's a good bang for your buck =) My bushings and steering rod ends are all still in perfect shape so... cant dis the kit yet.
Rides well to, everyone thinks it rides like a pig then they get in it and are amazed. Infact I 1000000%%% prefer the ride, handling and EVERYTHING about it over IFS!
TRUETRAC in the front ROCKS! It's perfect for me in the front. With the articulation you keep wheel contact so it just keeps on working! Only a few incidents where i got the one wheel peel but just a bit of steering and they lock back up. This is all due credit to the flex. Definetly never want a locker in my front, my buddies all run welded/locrites/selectables in the front and thats fine for them but they still whine and complain and curse about the steering. The truetrac is invisible I can't even feel it and it performs awesome. The truck just goesss!

I had the option of getting the TG locally but I got mine thru tofer shipped to my door. But having said that i can still get TG parts locally which i can't say the same for ANY of the other dealers.
All n All I think TG puts out a good reputation and backs it up. I'd like to support Marlin but service is slow and they dont offer a smaller spring (why the eff not???) and they are expensive but I still get some things from them when i can, like this clutch im gonna order soon.

Whats an STA? and by "rebuilding" be more specific. Replacing bearings and seals is $169 -> http://www.marlincrawler.com/axle/fr...wheel-bearings
or $145 through Trail-Gear http://trail-gear.com/knuckle-service
and the Marlin kit is better, you get Marlins better axle seals and Japanese OEM bearings (I think Timken? not sure) but anything Japanese made beats the hell out of Chinacrap from Trail-gear .. which i have because i used it obviously from the SAS kit. They're still good but both myself and my buddy have destroyed TG's China Trunion bearings! They are the crapsor!

I bought my SFA for $200, totally stock unmolested, just unbolted off an 85 and put in the bed of my truck.
It's pretty rare to find one that cheap tho in the condition mine was in, and a 85 to boot! (with Aisin hubs yippee)

Well all the info is in my signature =) I'm running 37's and 3" is perfect. It does sit about 5" over stock, well 5-5.5" somewhere in there, not 4" as advertised even after 3/4 of a year of settling now. The back I KNOW has 4" of lift over stock and it's lower so there ya go.
Anyway, no I wouldnt of gone with a 4" lift. Lots of reasons why, first of all LOW is the way to GO! Being tall is great if you're i dunno runnin swamps or live in Florida?
You can fit 37's (IMO perfect sized tire for a toyota pickup or 4runner) any bigger and you really should be lookin at full width axles to counter the height to width issue not to mention the tires hitting the frame rails on full lock.
Also I have a 2" body lift, couple reasons I kept it on the truck with the SAS. First of all I'm going to be doing a drivetrain lift so lifting the cab is the easiest solution for that vs getting stupid with it and messn with the tunnel. Also the bed will be KIA in a few months in place of a custom tube bed and exo so really BL is more like a cab lift. Not to mention the added convienence of having more space to turn a wrench everywhere.
Also allows me to have the axle a lil further back (like at stock) then you would normally on a SAS and only required minor firewall tubbing fender trimming and run 37's. Having said that I would of actually preferred to have the axle 3/4" forward than it is now but if you read through the pages you'd know why its a lil further back. Tho no complaints, it sets the the steering perfectly.
