TG 3" SAS done.
I have a ton of photos but for right now I'm just gonna post up a few. Later on once the truck is a lot closer to trail-ready I'll post up a more indepth pictorial =)
First off the Trail Gear IFS Eliminator with 3" springs is suppost to lift the truck 4" ... HA! ..it went up closer to 6".. And their directions (online) suck balls, dont even use them.
Don't cut your frame holes in the center of the body mount either, GO AS FAR FORWARD AS YOU CAN. I put mine forward of the center of the body mount (almost as far forward as you can) and still had to move my hangar in to get a proper shackle angle. It seemed to work better anyway, puts the drag links in a better spot not to hit when flexing. =)
Heres a few shots!
IFS flex shot at Tahuya
The axle I've had sitting right here for 3 years (been wanting to do the sas for 3 years!)
I'll skip the axle rebuild photos, here it is put together
another IFS shot, taken a few days before the swap
anyone notice the drag links are in the wrong holes? heh, fixed that dont worry. The hangar was first welded flush .. I wish I had just quit working on the truck before getting pissed and welding it solid haha.. but I've since cut it off and positioned it right for perfect shackle angle. It's tits now!
flex shot.. im 2wd till i get a front driveline. I Couldnt get on this wrong in 4wd IFS.. i creeped up effortless ha.. LOVE IT!
That shot is before i fixed the shackles, i get almost 2 more full inches of droop now (notice the pass. shackle is super far foward, actually holding the spring up. Fixed now. Retested on this rock tonight, works much much better)
Drives like a dream! Took me 15 minutes to align it tooooooo omg... im so happy haha aligning the IFS was a PAIN IN THE BUTT, no more bent idler arms... worn out balljoints. Steering is spot on responsive, no play at all. It's so much better.
I dont have a side shot to put up tonight but it's butt low by about 1.5" .. it'd be closer to level if this SAS actually was a 4" lift.. not closer to 6" ... sigh. It'll settle a little tho. I have long shackles and 2" lift blocks in the rear for now till i figure out what i wanna do back there.

Lookin good! You wanna do mine next If I were you I'd go with Chevy's in the rear, should match up pretty good! And if it's like an inch low, just throw and inch block back there and it'll be perfect! Here's a good link on the swap:

Oh, and if you don't know what to do for the front driveshaft, if you don't drive in the winter in 4wd, make a square driveshaft, you can make one for like $40

I planned on making a square one, heh already put in the order for the metal but... one small problem.. my Dumb butt LOL forgot to pull the yoke off before the first "test" drive out at the farm (where the shop is).. so the yoke is now in a ditch full of blackberry bushes... yeah... LOL .. oops..
Gonna try and find it but doubtful. Will figure it out soon. but definetly gonna run square, all my buddies run square, works awesome!
Also, looks like front/rear E-lockers coming soon as well =)
oh and the 63 chevies was an idea, also tacoma rears as well. 4link is another possibility then theres the matching TG rear lift. I'm indecisive as of now. =)

Well it sounds like you got everything covered good luck findin that in the bushes check out the link to my e-locker retrofit in my sig for a decent write up on retrofitting the rear from a Tacoma.
I'd just do the Chevy's, you can do it for under 200 bucks easy, but if money is not of concern the other options are great as well

I am extremely happy with the 3" lift. It will settle quite a bit. I also dig the way the truck drives now. I just installed 35's and no rubbing at all.... well the only that rubbed was the plastic fender liner. That was because it was ceased out, after cutting it out with a knife no more rubbing. Anyway enjoy it, I know that I do..

Thanks for the kind words guys =) I busted the SAS out in 2 days by myself. I had some help from my brother, friend and bros father in law (his shop) but majority was me myself and I. Which is how all my projects go! .. I'm used to it.
I'm a meticulous perfectionist.. so I'm a little annoyed now that my shock hoops don't perfectly align parallel with the Bilsteins now that I had to move the hangar back (did that last night) to get the right shackle angle. again TG directions coupled with the 12th hour into the SAS = NOTHING GOOD. ie welding the hangar solid cuz you're pissed off, "ahh screw it, it's just gonna have to work damnit!" .. hehe... yea... know when to call it quits
Anyway, the truck is definetly BUTT LOW, It's a tid bit lower now in the front with the fixed shackle angle... and it should settle some so it'll get some what better. It's manageable for now and flex's awesome. I could throw in a taller block or add-a-leaf out back but.. really.. no thanks. I'll run the sag till I really do the rear-end proper.
I'm starting to think 4.88's would be better with these particular tires as well. My buddies run 5.29's... and he taps out 65 at 3500rpm too in 5th gear. I dont like that heh
It's definetly doable with the 4.10's surprisingly. I cruise 70 no problem, tho I hardly touch 5th mainly cuz im lazy tho haha
and ALL these photos are of the truck with the 2" body lift still on. It's in the 100's all week here in the PNW (washington) and tonight is the first night after a full days work im not touching a thing. IE sitting here with my drink doing nothing.. ahhhh ... im not in a hurry to kill the body lift.
