temp guage spikes before truck is started
I have a 93 pickup. Its a 3.0l v6. I blew a coolant hose behind the motor yesterday and replaced it everything seemed fine. This morning i go out to the truck and put the key in. Turned the key on and the temp gauge went all the way up. Im sure the truck wasnt hot because it sat overnight. I have no clue what it could be. Checked my connections and everything seems good. Im in need of everyones expert advice. Afraid to drive the truck. dont need it overheating

well... you did blow a coolant hose and if that's related to overheating...
the sender has nothing to do with engine operation but it will tell you if you're running too hot. you see where i'm going with this... and i'm no 3.0 expert but i think they're known for blowing headgaskets and you can def do that by overheating the thing. so be real real reeeeaaaaaaalllll careful if you do drive it... my advice is to replace the sender before driving it at all, just to be safe.
