Tacoma rear axle for 1st Gen 4runner???
I know a lot of guys use the 3rd Gen 4Runner & Tacoma E-lockers by retrofitting them into their stock housings, but has anyone just swapped the entire axle assemblies?
Per this site http://home.4x4wire.com/erik/diffs/
The Taco rear axle assembly shows to be 60"
The 86'-95 IFS Rear axle is 58.5
Stock Front 84-85' Axle 55.5
So why not just swap axle assemblies (if available).
I plan on doing Chevy springs in the rear anyways with a "frenched" front
hanger. I would need to do new spring seats anyways.
I'm 3 linking the front with an 85' front axle
and widen it like done here https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f31/...spacers-59071/
and (2) 1.5" wheel spacers.(one on each side ofcourse) granting a total of 61.5" up front
So 61.5 up front
60 in the rear
I have a pile of parts stacking up....Link Mounts,5.29 Gears,Solid Axle with OTT Stearing FJ ends,PSC Hydraulic Assist...ect,Planning on retro fitting a Toyota e-locker up front and rear Taco axle swap with rear disc swap...
Here she is in her current form. 1.5" BJ Spacers,Sway A way Torsion Bars Granked,Rear Tuff country 3" Add A leaf and Warrior Shackle.(COMFORT LEVEL: LOG WAGON)
