man there was NO warning that was gonna flip. I really didn't see any way it could have been prevented, except going slower, but jeez, that wasn't even that fast...

Yeah... Short wheel base, narrow axles, lifted high comparative to the truck size were all key factors I'm sure. That front right tire just dug in and rolled me when it got off the hard packed wet sand into the looser stuff. Tried turning into it to keep me from rolling, but it just happened too fast. Couldn't have been going faster than 20, cause I was near the top of 2nd gear, and that's really not all that fast.

You can see my cousin get up after being catapulted off and run back to the truck on the left hand side of the truck right after it rolled, and you can kind of see my friend being flopped on by the truck at the very end at the bottom left. Can see my buddy john racing right by the camera to help get us out. Felt pretty intense.

ah, yes, driving a Toyota period always brings these risks to the table. A friend and I destroyed a 90 pickup back in my younger years... we were messing around in a corn field (it's a PA thing...) and next thing you know, the truck does a 3/4 barrel roll and I am head down to the ground. now consider this; it's a standard cab, I am pretty large (wore a 2/3XL at the time) and the other kid was far from normal too. talk about a fun escape...

son of a gun started right up and drove straight as soon as we rolled it on its wheels though. That was the very defining moment when I decided and believed with all my heart that nobody builds a better truck than Toyota.

I think what screwed you was sliding on the soaked sand into the damp sand... the soaked sand was fine... then you hit the not so wet sand, and it hit the fan

Also, I bet if you didn't have the extra 300-something pounds of human flesh sitting on TOP of the roll cage, things coulda turned out differently...That must have been such a terrifying experience for them. I know after something like that my clutch foot'll be shaking soi bad I wouldn't be able to drive for the next couple hours...

good to see everyones ok, but ya i see how it happened, from sliding wet packed sand, to soft dry sand, just like you said ST. however, damage looks minimal, and as others have said, make it stronger faster and more capable.

Why is everyone obsessed with speed? You see a truck roll over and everyone says the truck needs to be faster . Idk, funny in my eyes
