the popos came out, brought a wrecker, prolly going to impound it.
thankfully the flatbed couldnt get out to where i was, and it wasnt private property, so they basically said your on your own, have fun getting it.

Why would they impound it? Were you wheeling illegaly on public property?

ha, ive been out there once or twice before, but its never been that bad.
and the locker is hopefully coming soon, pending funds.

i think it was private property owned by the HOA of my neighborhood that this is 100 yards away from.
the impoud thing was just what someone was saying.

I say you throw some better tires on that truck. BFG Mud-terrains perhaps?

I see the rears are BFG, and the fronts GY, same size I hope.

I have a feeling if he had good tires and a locker, the winch and recovery gear wouldnt be needed.

Winches are nice...they give you too much confidence

yea....i've totally idled through stuff deeper than that in my '80...COMPLETELY stock with the exception of my super swampers...i go places in 2 wheel drive that my friend's '97 F-150 (4in lift and 33x12.50's) cant scoot through in 4wd...super swampers work wonders...i swear they do..i could have made it through that NO problem...i've made it through stuff worse than that...then backed BACK into it...then came right back out...wheel spin is all it takes around here..and its hard to spin 31's in 4hi with a 20R...probably why i kinda roasted my clutch a lil one day...o well...i needed a new one anyway

weren't you stuck there before?

Yeah, hopefully he learns his lesson...but maybe not : looks like the same spot he got stuck in a couple of months ago:
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116/stuck-139991/

I have had one of these for over 15 years. More Power Puller
http://www.cspoutdoors.com/morpowpul.html
much better/more powerful/more cable than a regular come a long. With it and an assortment of straps, that little mudhole extraction would have only taken a little while.

I have lost count of how many times I have pulled someone out with it.

Also think about front and rear recovery points when you start thinking about recovery gear

EDit:
I take it you never ordered that Aussie Locker next friday when you got paid?

Maybe to you, but this kind of thread is useful to us newbies, to help us learn what is and isn't possible.
