that sounds like its right and i would suspect that it is. its kinda like when you buy a suspension lift and have to specify between v6 or 4 cylinder. the v6 lift is higher in the front to make up for the weight. if i install stock bars would i have to take it in for another alignment?

Yup, a little makes a big difference. All the "work" is done by the outer part of the bar. On the Sprint cars we run hollow bars as the "extra " material in the center does virtually no work and it helps to keep the weight down.
