swapped out the wires and seemed to help some. Not as bad as before but still skips on idle. Did the paperclip jump thing and pulled codes off my check engine light.
4-1 and 5-1
I belive the 4-1 is the tps which i'll try to test again with a better meter. I think the 5-1 has something to do with the a/c which shouldn't have anything to do with this problem.

well, i borrowed a nice Fluke multi meter and tried to calibrate the tps. At first it was giving me very strange readings so i took it off and noticed that it was not returning all the way back to closed position. I sprayed some cleaner in the back and moved it around real good and now it closes nice and quick. Put it back on, set it with multi meter and what do you know... it purrs like a kitten. I guess the tps i bought off ebay will to in the tool box as a spare now.

Update: after setting the tps I bought a timing light to see how bad the timing was off. Well, it was very high. It was sitting about 2" past the end of the marks. I set it to 5deg. with the paper clip installed and when removed it went up to 12. I think its all good now. I drove it about 1 hour today and everything feels good.
and the tps i bought on ebay came in today. guess i'll keep it as a spare.
