sputtering dying no idle problem
alright a couple of months ago my 87 22r pickup was acting up after it got warm it would buck when taking off. i replaced the cap rotor plugs ignition coil and wires it seemed to help well today on my way back to school after about 1.5hr of driving in a 55 it start bucking really bad and if i pushed in the clutch it would die so pretty much had to keep pooring it gas on the way back. when i got back i unloaded my stuff so about 15min later i went out pumped the pedal a few times it fired up died i started it again gave it a little gas and it would idle. I went driving around with now problems. The only thing i can think of is the fuel pump got hot but looking at the sight glass after it cooled down and was idling it was fine. I know the timing is right i have already checked that im completely lost. all help would be appreciated

OK cause it would sputter and buck bad if I let it drop bellow 2500rpm but if I pushed in the clutch to coast or stop as soon as it reached 1200-1000 rpm it would die. Pump the gas a few times and itd fire back up

I checked that a while ago the nipple thing that the hose connects to (assuming I'm pulling the right hose) doesn't have a hole that I could feel on it its just a smooth dome

See if it has power at the wire that goes to it first. Some models have 12v going to it, others have 5v (from ecm) so use a voltmeter and not a test light. Might be you only blew a fuse. You should hear or feel it click when you disconnect the wire with the key on. If you bypass it, it might diesel when you shut the engine off.

You'll have to get the carb number and/or determine if it's a 12volt or 5volt solenoid. I can't find a listing on Amazon for an 87, it says it's fuel injection. You do have a carb right?

Well, if you want to bypass it for testing purposes, you can unscrew the solenoid and remove the oring at the tip, then put it back in and see if it idles. It might diesel (like I said) when you shut the engine off though.
