Spuddering engine

Ok here is the story. This isn't the first time this has happened, but it has always corrected itself. I have washed my engine a few times before and I'm always real careful of where I spray the water. Everytime I have I washed my engine I start it up and it runs rough for about a minute. Almost like its running on three cylinders. Anyways I took a trip up to the mountains and I was running her hard and we get there and go skiing and come back to leave and I notice that the engine is running rough. I thought it would just correct itself, but it ran like that all the way home and still runs like that. I haven't had the time to look at it yet, but I'm going to take the distributor cap off and look at it. But to me it seems like its electrical because it has happened every time I washed my engine. I'll check my plugs, but the wires look like they are in good shape. Any input would be appreciated.

sounds like water in the distributor. Check your wires too, replace them if they are old.
