Nice and creative but if it was me I wouldn't leave the photo or description up there. It might just give some jerk the incentive to make that tool and go raiding Toyota's and others on the cheap.

I see what you mean. Unfortunately you can buy a very similar device online. Or use screwdriver, which started this whole debacle. If there's a will, they'll find a way.

Stay tuned for my car alarm install questions, haha.

Someone did that to my truck about two months back from deployment. My girlfriend moved us while I was gone, into a lame neighborHOOD. I woke up one morning and some pisspan decided to try to break into my truck. They only managed to break both locks, and one handle housing by cranking on the locks with a screwdriver. That caused about $400 in damage. I hate car alarms, but I hate replacing locks even more. Chirp, chirp!

Can also put a manual ECU/EFI shut off switch hidden so only you know where it is. Some places in the country these trucks are stolen all the time.

What are these? How do they work? How much? Will it prevent the screwdriver in the keyhole? Or just disengage the car?

Just a hidden toggle or roll switch hidden. Won't stop the screw driver. Nor a flat bed truck or trailer but would expect that for a modified rig as they can part it out for more cash.

What sucks is that all you can rally do is make it more difficult to steal.

No, it's a "feature".

My 88 Hilux can be started with a Swiss army blade, nail file, or any thin piece of metal. Who needs keys?

Does anyone use "The Club" any more? Years ago when I lived in the city we had them on both vehicle, one was the 88 4Runner. I knew a locksmith/police detective and had him key both Clubs alike. He said they were made with Nissan locks.

They are pretty effective against the average joy rider, parts thief. Organized auto thieves are usually looking for higher dollar vehicles.

Coincidentally, I cleaned out my truck yesterday which included a Club shoved under the seat with its keys taped onto it. Forgot I even had it there.
