Thanks for the info guys, I have had my 94 for about a 18 months now and have chnaged all the fluids and all tha stuff religiously. I wanted to get some info and I did thanks. I do have the AT and wish it wasn't but ohh well. The engine runs good with the exception of this miss I just pickes up the other day after I cleaned my plugs. It has to eb something I did because it was fine and then poof it gets a miss. I want to get a set of headers and do a new exhaust back but how much is that gonna run me? I don't want to put too much into the truck as it is ungly right now from rust, both front fenders ate rusting and so is the bed along the wheel wells. Know any good places for a reasonable bed and fenders?

Ya i would have to say there isn't much for common problems if you take care of it (besides the HG). I love the engine, just wish it had a little more umpphh. The first owner of my 94 3.0 took great care of it up to 135K when my buddy bought it from them. In 3 years from 135K-192K he towed either snowmobiles, or 2 quads behind the truck doing 75mph floored in 4th gear (almost 4,000 rpm) for 230 miles on a 4 hour trip to my cabin in northern MI, 4-5 times a year. It never missed a beat. I bought it at 192K. I've got it to 197K now and the only thing that has been done to the engine was the HG recall around 100K, a starter, T-belt and water pump, spark plugs, and a warped passenger exhaust manifold that we sanded flat again. Hell it still has the original clutch and spark plug wires! Doesn't leak a drop and burns 1 quart/1,700 miles. That proved Toyota reliability to me!

Common problem with the 3.0 is a lack of horsepower. Don't get me wrong, it is a HUGE improvement over the 22RE as far as power is concerned, but it is definitely lacking.

a normal problem with the 3VZE is that everyone with a 22re or a 3.4 swap will tell you how much of a piece of s#$% your engine is and that you should be ashame for having one!
hahahaha
what I have learned from mine is that oil leaks are a must with this engine, that even changin the plugs is a PITA, etc etc. they are a thight fit in the engine bay so it kind of sucks to work on them but hey! if you like doing maintenance even changing you PCV will feel like you just rebuilded something complicated
hahahaha

1 thing I did on my last rebuild And a suggestion I make for all of people who replace head gaskets on this engine is to torque about 1/8 turn beyond the spec. It's worked well for me.

I'll be honest, I don't have a lot of experience with my truck yet, but changing the plugs was way easy. Moved the air box on the drivers side and didn't have to move anything on the passenger side.
