Shifter seat bushing

Hello All.

I just received a new shifter seat bushing from Marlin Crawler all good to this point. However, when I opened her up to do the fix it appears there is a bronze seat installed . Is this possible? It was impossible to remove and the new one can't fit. Oh yeah, it is an 89 4x4 sr5 v6
Thanks for your time

When working on Toyota`s the sky is the limit for finding interesting and often strange poorly done modifications

Just how bad is your shifter ??

It's not terrible. It was just wierd to find this it seems you would need to somehow remove the pins to get it out. Thanks for the reply.

I've never seen any brass in that area of the transmission. One thing to note about the Marlin Crawler white seat, you will need the black rubber seal pulled out too along with the orig seat for it to fit. I modified my tacoma r150f (same seat) so I had the seal + the white seat, so I have an insane amount of life before it wears to even the factory new location.

Photos would be interesting to see what you see.

I expected to find a crumbly 168k mile part but there is a brass or bronze bushing. I will pull it apart again and get a pic on Monday. I replaced the 4wd shifter and it was as expected crumbly soft and black. Thanks again and I will pull it apart again.

That looks like a samurai shifter bushing. How did it shift?
