Seat replacement options for 1987 4x4 ext cab

I desperately need new seats in my '87 and I'm hoping someone else has gone through this process and can offer advice. I've looked around at some aftermarket "racing" style seats, and although there are some cheaper options, I'm not sure sure they're really worth the hassle to make them fit. So what I'm wondering is:

1. Which aftermarket seats would be a direct bolt-in replacement? Mine is a bench (I don't know what the options were in 1987) but I can only assume the bolt pattern is the same for bench or buckets, if there was a bucket option.

2. What other model/year Toyota seats would be a direct replacement? And if there's not an exhaustive list available: would buckets from an '89 be a direct replacement?

I'm not looking for anything fancy here, the current seats are very torn up and incredibly uncomfortable. Looks are not the issue, right now I'm just interested in functionality.

Yes, I did search the forum for seat-related threads but I didn't find much useful information about direct replacements. If you know there's a thread out there with the information I'm looking for, let me know!

My brother has an 85 Pickup and he took the bucket seats out of a 90 4Runner and put them in with minimal work. All but one hole lined up I believe. He also originally had a bench seat.

friend of mine with a '92 single cab pickup put 4runner seats in it, not sure what year but doubt the holes really vary that much.

i to have a bench in my '87 and its horrible, they suck. I put foam between the springs and the back of the seat, in the seat. on the drivers side LOL. it helped a lot. oh and a seat cover.

anyways, best bet is to find 4runner seats.
