Sale price advise 91 4runner
I've got a good friend interested in my 91 4runner--I've tried to accurately price it thru kelley bb and nada, but I'm thinking that me not having the original motor in it would effect the price of it-- everything shows to be in the mid to high 2's with original motor--does me having a different motor in it qualify it as a salvage vehicle?Bottom line, he told he could give me 2100.00 for it--What do you all think?

take the 2100, new motor doesnt give you a salvage title...and if its only got 90k on the motor, then hes better off anyway...take the 2100 and walk.
i paid 2800 for my truck with 180k miles and its a 91 3vze 5speed

I paid $2K for mine with 252K miles on her. All original....not even sure if the guy did the HG recall or not. But it's lasted this long.... The guy was pretty good about the maintenance and even showed me the receipt from have the timing belt done at 214K.
Since I bought it, I've replaced the rear springs to Downey's (fix rear end sag and for towing), shocks (Bilstein's now), tranny cooler (towing again), all the fluids, and got a set of JDM seats from Jarco.
All told, I've probably got $2800 into the truck now.
I just bought a set of head (with cams) from Ebay. So, I'll be sending those out to Ted and getting Weasy cams. The plan is to pull the engine over the winter and re-set the clock on her.

I'd think a newer motor would put you well ahead of other 4Runners for sale. Can't see why a newer motor would be a downgrade... and classifying it as a salvage title for that reason makes no sense.
Also, make sure your friend (or other buyers) know how rare it is to have the factory spare mount on the back. It's a nice feature and difficult to add later.
I bought mine with 200,000, no rust or body damage, 5spd for $3,200. Looking at the other posts I guess I paid to much, but it's been a great vehicle so far. It had the original motor.
