Roof Rack help
My 1990 4runner does not have a roof rack, it completely smooth on top. There is a roof rack on at a local junk yard I can nab but will I able to put it on? What problems might I encounter?

You need to use something like a nutsert or rivnut. Watch the clip (you don't need the fancy power tool, you can buy a manual one in a kit).

Silicone the rivnuts before you install the bolts. Voila.

You don't need to do anything with the headliner with the rivnuts. You drill a very shallow hole, insert the rivnut, fasten it with the tool (very much like a pop rivet), and repeat.

Check Harbor Freight, maybe they have something similar. I picked one up here for about $20.

Yeah it's pretty much that easy. I installed a Wilderness Rack on my first gen and it was crazy easy.
