Replacing W56

Replacing W56
Hey all,
I have a '91 2wd and am scouring junkyards for a W56 trans to replace my clapped out unit which is slowly grinding itself to bits... does anyone know which years of 2wd 22RE piclups have the W56? Are there any differences between years I need to be aware of before grabbing one at random and throwing it in my truck? Or are there any other manual transmissions that came in these trucks that I should avoid?

the 2wd versions will be different than the 4wd versions. the 2wd version has a tailshaft for connection to the driveshaft, while the 4wd version will have no tailshaft, and might have a transfer case attached. a 4wd version would need a tailshaft added (at a minimum) to work in a 2wd truck.
