Replacing rear cam seals: any tips??
Basically what the title says. I am also redoing the fuel injector seals and checking out the fuel modulator too while I'm under the manifold. I'm looking for any information on stumbling blocks and time saving tips. I know I'm not the only one to take this on.
Please let me know

if your injectors arnt leaking I wouldnt mess with them. More times you create more problems. Since you have your valve covers off doing your cam plugs, I would suggest adjusting your valves if they havent been done in awhile. You will avoid an expensive top end job by adjusting them

Thanks for the tip on the injectors. I have a fuel smell, egr and charcoal cannister check out ok. I'm thinking it's the fuel inj seals as I found on the drivers side I had the old and new seals in there from when I had a shop do the HG. Could also be the fuel rail modulator.
No tips on the cam seal replacement?

the rear cam plugs are easy to do once you have the valve covers off. The drivers side just remove the cam cap, pull the old one out, clean out where it sits then put it all back together. Torque is 144 in pounds or 12 ft lbs. Passenger side cap has the harnes ground bolted to it and the fuel pulse damper line bolted to it. Remove the fuel rail crossover pipe in the rear so you can loosen the fuel pulse damper. If you need to replace the damper, take the plastic cap off so that it will sqeeze by the rear sensor block. You can snap the cap back on after its back on. Remove the passenger rear cap and do the same thing with that plug. There is a set screw in the middle of the damper. If it is missing or fallen out, that may be your fuel smell
