Replacing all brake lines?
#21
Just bought 2 five foot lengths for the last two brake lines on my '93 Toyo 4x4 pickup v6! I asked the guys at Car Quest what are the brake line coils just before the T block unions on the frame @ the right wheel well. They said "they are for cooling the brake fluid, so as to avert any brake fading or other brake problems under heavy brake usage". So I asked , do I need to make the coils in the new brake line am replacing! They said" not really". I only use my truck to go to town, banking and grocery shopping, etc...They said" no problem! So each 5 foot section will just make it from the master cyl. To the T union! Maybe I will put them in Sat. , weather permitting! Will get back with results. Hope this helps . I am nearly done! All the new lines are in! I just replaced the front (left & right) wheel small sections just after the rubber brake lines. I moved the old driver's side one a tiny bit and it started leaking, so I have replaced every inch of brake line now!Luckily all the ends backed out without heating them. Bent and put in the new sections. I bled the brakes again, no air coming out, but still no pedal! Pedal goes to the floor slowly.I hear a wierd sound when I step on the pedal, very faint, is that air or fluid getting by somewhere? On the firewall ? No leaks anywhere! Fluid does not go down in the Master. Strange? Any ideas out there?
