replace fuel line 1987 4Runner DLX 22RE
Think its time to replace gas line(s). Not a lot of usable info online with most vendors inventory for later model years.
Q: Any URL's where can I purchase a complete gas line(s)?
Think it runs from fuel filter, buried under engine out to the passenger side, hiding
up under the chassis back to the last pieces of hose that attach to top of gas tank at the send unit assembly..?
Ebay, Carid, Rockauto, and a host of vendor show stuff, but doesn't actually fit a 1987 4runner 22RE EFI vehicle.
Other sources don't go back that far, 1987...you guys know the deal with the 1st Gens....
Can this replacement be made of rubber, high pressure if steel tubing unavailable?
Dealer in my area doesn't have a clue. All techs there into late model rice burners and thus far, haven't located somebody
nearby that knows how to accomplish this. My current mechanic is a Ford/Chev guy and isn't well versed in Toyota....
help, anyone?
thanks

Find a mechanic that is older than your vehicle, teach your Ford guy about the metric system, show the "ricer" kids the gen1's launching 12 foot off the ground on sand dunes or the Icelandic snow buggies on 48" flotation tires.. If none of that gets you anywhere spend a few bucks on tools and do it your self..
I'm not aware of anyone reproducing the hard lines and I expect some of it has to with trying to ship a long length of hard-line and it getting there undamaged..
You just need two or three times the length of tube, a bender, a flare tool, a tube cutter, and some practice. You can pay one of the aforementioned shops to learn this skill and aquire the tools or you can DIY.. I've got a tool addiction if the tools cost less or equal to the shop quote I'm gonna do it myself and maybe learn some new skill.
