Reman 3vze Engine Swap - oil priming / oil in camshafts
Hey everyone,
I recently did a reman engine swap on my 1989 4runner with a 3vze. I am ready to fire it up and am working on priming the engine oil.
I removed all the spark plugs and EFI fuse. I have also removed to my distributor to see if oil is being cycled through the cams. As I crank it over for about 30 seconds the oil pressure gauge builds to about a quarter of the way, but I do not see any oil flowing into the cams. Should I be seeing oil in the cams? Am I doing anything wrong? I am really scared to fire it up.
I have searched for this, but I haven't been able to find anything regarding oil in the cam shafts.
Any input would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thank You!

I don't see an outlet at the distributor. Looks like you need to have faith in your assembly lube and just go for it. Kinda makes you miss the older less cluttered engines where you can spin it over w/o the covers yeah
