that's about average $$; sounds close to what I paid. go ahead and match up that o-ring (the one between the backing plate and axle tube) at a Napa; it's like less than a dollar, and if yours are squashed flat like mine were, it probably wouldn't hurt to replace em

and definately, replace every seal while you're in there... it would suck to have to tear it apart in 3 thousand miles when the old seal starts leaking...

don't forget, there's another seal on the other side of that bearing (that's right, two seals on each side... plus that o-ring), not visable till you separate the axle shaft away from the bearing; wouldn't hurt to replace it either

Edit: just reread, it looks like you already know about that other seal sorry

oh yeah, pics or it didn't happen

if you cant see it look at the bearings the lower picture is above the backing plate

the one above it the bearing is inset about 1/4 in so it fits lol

looks like the bearing is not seated all the way down into the backing plate! can you get the nuts started?

if you can, just tighten them evenly, should suck the backing plate up tight.

they use those studs to pull the bearing off! if you tightened them up all evenly there is no way they would break!

maybe it would break/strip if tried sucking it up with just one lol.

but its your rig! I'm not trying to talk you into it.

plus you paid the guy, make him fix it lol.
