A question about my 4runner
I've done a few searches, but didn't find anything about the wires in/on my rear passenger window. They look like the rear defroster wires, but don't seem to be for defrosting and aren't connected on both ends. Anyone know what they're for? I've seen them on other 2nd gen 4runners as well.

They are what they look like. (NOT!)
If they, "...aren't connected on both ends.", you must have partially disassembled the rear door. Are there any loose wires that appear to be good candidates for (re)attachment? These leads are known to become corroded and could fall off the window. (Check out the detail in the FSM!)
I am not sure about '92 models, but the rear window defroster was optional on some year's models. It's possible that your non-defroster vehicle had a (used) defroster window installed as a replacement, in it's antecedent life. Is there a switch for the rear defroster on the dash?

"...I've had my 3rd gen for a couple months now and always thought that was a defroster for the side cargo area windows... lol."
"...My 95 Gen 2 has the same thing. First time I saw it I thought, "strange place to put a defroster." Then it occured this had to be another antenna."

Trippy!
I'm learning about this diversity antenna system! Interesting!
"A system utilizing diversity tuning consists of a specialized tuner and two antennas located on opposite sides of the vehicle. When listening to the radio, a special electronic circuit monitors the signal strength at both antennas and electronically selects between the stronger of the two. The speed at which this switching process occurs is so rapid that the listener does not even perceive that it has taken place." (thanks to 01gsxr1 on the Tundra Solutions Forum!)
And Toyota has had this since at least '93! Amazing! I must have missed the Memo! lol! I wonder what else I've missed?
