Why not just put a clutch in your truck? It's not that hard and you could probably do it youself in a day. Your truck would be worth alot more and be easier to sell.
First gen 4runners are fun. That one looks pretty good but there will always be another one.

thats what i was thinkin. my dads mechanic took a look at it and said he'd rebuild the tranny for 800-1200 and give me a warranty on the work, and put in the clutch of my choice. should i go for that, or just try to get lucky from the boneyard and replace the input shaft bearing, front tranny seal, etc on the "new" one? cuz i mean 1200 is a little steep for just a tranny, when i could prob sell the whole truck for MAX 2000. man, stuff goes wrong at the wrong time... its like these trucks KNOW when it will hurt you bad to stop working. lol.

hello? mc fly??
that's an awesome deal for an 86 if the body/frame is rust free and it drives with no problems. there's a reason he's selling it tho. my advice:
go see it, drive it, get it hot. see if you can make it show a weakness, like overheat, bad cooling sys, grindy 4wd, electrical, etc. you may be able to neg. down to $1000.
then, give a deposit of a $100 and tell them you'll come pick it up in a week. that will give you time to blow out your truck. put your truck on every craigslist within 500 miles, including up north where nice trucks are hard to find. if you really push to sell your rig with heavy marketing on craigslist and 4wd sites, you'll get a buyer. its all about the pictures! clean it up nice, spray it down with water and take pics wet so it looks good n' shiny.
come on man! 86 runner! make it happen!
or, just keep your marty mcfly mobile. ha j/k good luck bro!
