Power Steering Info. 22R or 22RE

I have an 82 PU with power steering that someone clearly added because they put the belt on the 2nd crankshaft pulley and tried to weld the "high pressure" line! got a new flexible line and am ordering the add on pulley. will the belt be stretched out when I put it on the third pulley?

I am putting PS on my '85 2WD that has A/C and CC but no PS. It's an SR5 so I can't really figure that one out but it is what it is.
I need to replace the inner tie-rod ends; no problem. The center link to pitman arm balljoint boot is busted and there is top to bottom play in the joint although there is no side-to-side play apparent so I assume that I need to replace the center link as well. Steering was really sloppy anyway.
I see two different part numbers for MOOG center links. One for manual steering and one for power steering. I can't seem to find anything on this forum or any other that indicates that there is a difference between the manual and power one and the pitman arms are the same between the manual box and the power box.
My question is do I need to buy the PS center link as opposed to the manual steering center link. The center link for power steering is about twice the price of the manual one.

I didn't see this mentioned - I have a 93RE 4x without PS - found a PS box from a 4x year unknown. The PS box is longer then the Manual box so I had to get the shorter steering shaft that mounts to the steering column. My PS box must be from an earlier year, right?

Thank you for the reply ditypup. Everything seems to mate up alright on my 2WD truck and I can't find any reference to changing the center link or any other part of the steering linkage anywhere that I search.
I have the PS center link p/n coming from Amazon so return will not be an issue. I can get the manual center link here locally and it's less expensive. So, I think when the one from Amazon gets here I'll get the manual one here and compare them and post my findings so that others will have the information in the future.
On the 2wd there is no difference at all in the pitman arm between the manual and power steering boxes. The major difference in the two is that the PS box is about 3 inches longer than the manual one but it still mates ok with the steering column shaft.

My gearbox is like this one .. steering gearbox
And as you can see in the pic below there is a difference in length between early and later boxes. Since the later box is also longer than the manual box a shorter steering shaft would be required.

2-wheel drive conversion
Is this conversion on a 2 wheel drive pickup? My daughter has a 1989 22re pickup 2 wheel drive with EFI. She got the power steering equipment off of a 1986 4-wheel drive, the motor was gone out of that truck so I don't know what engine it was.
Do you know if its possible to put that into her little pickup?

This is slightly off topic, but has anyone ran hard lines for their high pressure power steering lines? I've noticed that mine are starting to crack, and feel like I could run hard lines for close to the same price of purchasing new OEM ones? If anyone has thoughts or experience on the subject I would appreciate your insight. Thanks

Hi guys.
I just converted my '88 22RE pickup to PS, but am missing that dreadful second pulley (crankshaft pulley no.2) that bolts to the existing crank pulley with the 4 bolts.
Does anyone has this laying around - This is the only piece keeping me from enjoying that minus 15mph smooth drive...it does make a huge diff when off roading and having bigger tires.
Located in Frisco, TX 75034. Thanks in advance!

Question about power steering
Hello and thanks for this info. I have an 84 4wd Pickup 22R and I am trying to salvage power-steering parts for it. I have heard that Toyota, Forerunners, Pickups and the Celica from 1980-1992 with the 22R will work.
I don’t want to pick the wrong parts and I was wondering if anyone knows if this is correct and does the 4WD change the compatibility?
thanks
Adam
