Power door lock switch

Power door lock switch
Can anyone troubleshoot an 89 (1st gen) power door lock switch. It's an all in one assembly with the window switches. The switch operates only to unlock the doors, not lock them. Please help. Any plausible solutions.

You might want to try this: see if the switch itself works by testing it with a multimeter. Put the multimeter in continuity mode. You should get continuity when the switch is in lock position.
Hope this helps.

Your contacts might be a little carboned up and dirty. Every year or so i have to open up my control panel and shine up the contacts under the switches. I use a real fine grit sandpaper. Im not sure about the 1st generation 4runners, but my panel has tiny black springs in it, so if you do open it up--do it carefully, in a well lit area.Nothing like crawling around the driveway with a flashlight, looking for something that small.
