Potentially blown HG on 1993

Hello folks, sad day for me. I think my HG is going. There is a small oil leak, the lifters are ticking much louder, and my oil isn't being burned (a quart or so every tank of gas). It smells and has white smoke on first start. I don't know what it smells like, but something is definitely burning. Should I consider going into work tomorrow (30 mins both ways, highway)

Only if your planning to get a ride home and either rebuild the engine or replace it

Ok, my oil isn't milky, and the exhaust doesn't smell sweet, just smells rich. The knock sensor is gone, but would that contribute?

I have seen videos where Unburnt fuel looks white.
That being said... I had a bad head gasket and never had white smoke come out of the tail pipe or milky oil. If i was you I would do a compression test.

Ok, I'll try that this weekend. The rings have been pretty bad for a while. But, we can see what the difference is between each cyl.

Back in the day. I would check the rings by doing a compression test, Then squirt some oil in the cylinder through the spark plug hole. If the pressure cam up. bad rings, If it is low and the oil does not help. Then bad head or gasket.
