These are the part numbers:

I wonder if anyone has tried them on a 1st gen 4Runner. The original rear bumpers are hard to get. I used to see 1st gens with step bumpers in the old days.

That looks like it might be up at Nellis?

Been there. They're touchy about flightline security. REAL touchy. At least during the Red Flag excersizes.
I saw an F-14 pilot and RIO pair cross the ropes that indicated a "wall", which they would have had to walk down the flightline a ways to get to the "gate", a break in the ropes, where they were permitted to cross the "wall". Then all the way back to get to their plane. It was right there in front of them. If you've ever seen a pilot or RIO fully geared up for flight, you'd understand why they cheated a little.

Anywho, within their first 5 steps, a jeep with 4 APs (Air Police) and a .50 cal pintle mounted, came screaming down the flightline, full speed ahead, siren screaming. Three of them jumped out, armed with pistols and M-16s, while one stayed and manned the .50 cal, locked, cocked, ready to rock. They shoved their rifles into the Aviator's faces, and ordered them onto the ground. Yelling and screaming the way cops do. They cuffed them up, and took them away, tires squealing, engine racing. They acted like these guys were terrorists, with bombs in their hands, there to blow up the planes.
Fortunately, they got released, with all their flight gear , at least, to their CO's custody. He was NOT happy, needless to say. He sent that crew back to the base they had deployed to Nellis from. No idea what happened to them after that.

I don't know if they've calmed down over the years or not, and this was back in 87, but they were REAL touchy about flightline security then...

Sorry, memory lane called to me...

Hahaha that's a great story!
This was taken at the airfield where I work in CO. We are a hot spot for military training due to our high altitude and mountainous terrain, and we have an Army aviation training base on site that flys Chinooks, Blackhawks, and Lakotas. Occasionally we get to see Cobras and one time we had a pair of Ospreys land. F-16 do occasional fly-bys and we used to see the legacy Hornets all the time. The C-17s are pretty frequent and usually come in a 4 ship, and we get the random C-130 here and there. It's a pretty fun airfield to work at!

Sounds like a fun airport to work at!

I was stationed at MCAS Yuma for much of my enlistments. Yuma Az. A hot, dry, dusty, miserable place. Touch a plane's wing in the afternoon, second degree burns. They HURT! But the Corps loves Yuma. 360 flying days a year. Maybe a total of 3 inches of rain per year, usually all at once.
Once a year we'd have a huge excersize, people from all over the military would come to Yuma for war games. We would see every kind of plane, including choppers, the military flies. I saw my first F-14 during the affair. Very cool. The plane, not the weather It was still a few years until Top Gun came out.
All the local bars would be packed, oddly enough

Not nearly as bad as when the "snowbirds" would come flocking in every "winter". They clogged up the roads, stores, restaurants, everything.
I was real glad I got out when I did, though. When it got to the point I couldn't walk out my front door without a sidearm, at least, I moved. It's much, much worse now. Although I did get a huge number of offers for young girls if I would quit holding illegals for the Border Patrol. My property was right on the main path into the States. I never took them up on their offers, BTW. Not my cup of tea.

Have fun!

Point Reyes, Bodega Bay to Russian River

Put Ruby Tuesday (#rad4runner) to work again. Clamming, crabbing and touring Point Reyes, Bodega Bay and Russian River. Camped at Doran Campground, Bodega Bay where sound of crashing waves lull you to sleep (albeit interrupted by foghorns )

Almost as pretty as Neiman-Marcus parking, would you say?

Almost as pretty as the drive to work, would you say?

More beautiful by far, IMHO.
Then again, my drive to work was 60 miles through the desert just outside of Yuma. I hate the desert. Dry, dessicated, sandy, dusty, empty, MISERABLE place. Just my personal opinion, though. I've heard some like it. You know, Satan, people like that
I was able to ride my motorcycle out to work nearly every day. Only plus I can think of. Rain is pretty much a memory, there.

Glad I moved out! Oregon is MUCH nicer.
