I figure it won't, just talked to the insurance to give the recount, and I'll probably end up bringing it to the shop, make an appointment before I have class and see what they say, they'll do the repair as well

I'm sorry for your ordeal. Even when you're not at fault you loose time and it's a major hassle and stress. Your father probably has a good handle on this to advise you but I want to point out that you do not have to accept the first estimate they give you. If the only damage is to the fender and they will pay to fix it fine. In my state we are allowed to choose the shop that ultimately fixes it. If they try to total it get on eBay ended auctions and Bring A Trailer and get some pictures of 4Runners that have sold for $6 -$10k.
A friend was driving my '97 4Runner when it was side swiped and totaled by a 2001 4Runner! My 4Runner almost flipped and they were only going about 35 mph.
Are you calling the bus driver a Yahoo or is there an actual Yahoo bus that carries busy Yahoo employees around?

LAURA I too was gonna reccomend not taking the first quote as your final quote. One body shop may say it is totaled. The 2nd or 3rd might not. And they might get you more $$$ for the accident. I'm not an expert but I've fallen victim to stupid drivers over and over in my little corolla. So I get it.

It was a Yahoo bus, like the internet site Yahoo.
And I know, we're calling shops around. I've seen vehicles with more damage not be totaled
My bro wrapped my moms car around 3 trees and it was $300 under the "total" limit lol even tho it wasn't remotely drivable

My buddy Bruce's Taco: R.I.P..... Luckily he was ok, he was stopped at a stop sign and the trucker blew through and caught his front.

A rusty section of my muffler decided to give out a few days ago. Heard a "pop" driving and then on deceleration my truck sounded...good ha ha. Has anybody seen this before, the rear pipes are pretty bad so this is a great excuse to replace them. I wouldn't be so quick to change, but the hole is facing upward and I'd rather not have exhaust collecting under the car while I'm stopped
Best picture I have right now, I will get a better shot in the light tomorrow.

I'd replace that system, not healthy for you at all, and this can mess up the readings your 02 sensor gets, it might adjust for the extra oxygen coming in.

If the hole is after the O2 it doesn't change the readings, after the cat doesn't technically change emission levels, but it'll change the readings on gas analyzers when you're getting a smog.
I put a super 44 flowmaster on turbo, sounds pretty good. And a Doug thorly header, they're California smog legal if you get the sticker. Its a 550-y code.
Also new exhaust system you should get new O2 sensors, they're technically maintenance items.
Also only get OEM. no aftermarket ones, everyone I know who went to cheap aftermarket ones their trucks never ran right until they changed them

I definitely want to my truck quoted by the insurance company with everything that I have invested in this truck. I have every receipt that I have ever spent toward the truck since the day I bought it. I have spent just about 14,000 dollars in total from buying the truck, to restoring the truck(interior, exterior and mechanically such as rebuilding the engine getting all new emissions sensors and all the exhaust stuff), to all the off-road upgrades, to my custom front and rear bumpers and accessories. I'm sure I'm about $150-200 off my calculations but it is more or less in the 14,000 dollar range. So I would definitely like to get appraised by the insurance company for sure just in case some horrible freak accident happens that i end up losing my truck. And only and up getting 2000 dollars out of it.
Once I install the knocksensor and knocksensor connector wire ill add that to the total, as well for a new alarm system and killswitch. I'm sure those would help me out in the total as well

Also hows that front bumper working for you? have you had the chance to "use" it yet?

Haven't been on this thread since I had to sell my '94 runner. Got an 04 Tacoma now and just picked up an '87 runner. Runner's gonna be a project and Tacoma is my work truck. I'll try to put some pics up tomorrow. Runner is bone stock with 185k on the clock but 4k on a rebuilt motor. Looking forward to comments and ideas for it.
