Haha I want to line x my top! How much did you get your top bed lined?
And ya im thinking about doing a slow build thread, only things ive done to it is change the spark plugs, add the second tow hook, and zuk'ed it. I am in the middle of doing my own back side panels, running my own speaker wire so I can mount some speakers, putting a "new" radio and some slight engin work

I decided on Friday to turn my pink truck back to red. Not pinkrum! REDRUM!
Oxidized on left, one coat of polish on right

Oxidized roof vs. finished hood and fenders. I only did one coat of polish and one coat of wax on the fenders since they usually don't oxidize as bad.

After: Two coats of polish and two coats of wax on roof. I'm pretty sure I was wasting my time with two coats of wax. I'm just trying to keep it non-oxidized for a longer period of time. It seems like every time I've polished and waxed it, it oxidized really quickly. Maybe just because it's old paint?

The polish I used (Awesome stuff! Too bad it's discontinued...):
![](http://img0005.popscreencdn.com/153174634_turtle-wax-t-26r-finish-2001-wax-14-oz-paste-with-free-.jpg)
I used the regular Turtle Wax paste wax. It goes on well, but it is really hard to get off. It also doesn't seem to last very long. The only turtle wax product I've used that I would not buy again.
![](http://www.turtlewax.com/images/demostore/products/extralarge/turtle_wax_super_hard_shell-paste_T222R.jpg)
I only did the hood, roof, and front fenders. I've already picked up some more wax (Turtle Wax Ice paste wax). I'm gonna finish the rest of the truck once I get more polish (thinking about using Turtle Wax 1-Step Color Back) and once I regain feeling in my arms

Awesome 93!
Lil tip I've used on hot rods and my yotas alike.....
http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/...rn-starch.html
Yep, corn starch.....
I use TR8 and old school Carnuba Aviation Meguires. I have around a quart left of it and is always slowly heated up in small amounts to aid in ease & depth of penetration during application and more.... Eucalyptus Oil, as well, is as advertized.... Natural rust prevention.
Again, NICE JOB!

Thanks guys! I actually found some 3M rubbing compound and some random polish my brother had (I can't remember what brand it was) and I finished up the rest of the truck, so I never got to try the Turtle Wax 1-Step Color Back. I looked at two Napas, an Advance Auto, and a Walmart and no one had it. I could order it from work, but that means I'd have to wait until Wednesday
But free stuff works good, too
I took a couple pics, but it doesn't look any different. In person it does, but on the camera it looks the same as those I posted above.
On a side note, that Turtle Wax Ice paste wax is the bees knees! It's the cats pajamas! It's just...amazing
Well, I shouldn't get too carried away since I don't know about its longevity just yet
However, it went on well and came off very easy. Much better than their regular wax. For the extra $10 or whatever bucks, I'd recommend it, just due to ease of application. Plus, it didn't even look like I made a dent in the container, so I have enough for many more applications.
Also, it's been 3 days since I polished and waxed the roof and hood...I already have oxidation forming on the hood again
just sayin'. I'm thinking the paint is just too old. I see paint and body work in the future!

Yeah, i was amazed when i saw it. Jumped all over that.
The PO took excellent care of it, the engine is clean and leak free, all nippon-denso parts. Only real issues are cheap shocks and stabilizer, and flat springs. A bit of rust in the bed but thats fairly par for course, round here your lucky to have just a little.

Just need to get a solid hitch and it will be solid for my dd. Scared to put any weight on this...

These two are the shots I was talking about before. Not much of a difference shown in the pics, though.

Seats are starting to wear through. The bottom has been wearing for some time, so I've been trying to go easy on it. I just noticed the back of the seat wearing this morning. Just something to expect with a 20 year old vehicle![Frown](https://www.yotatech.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)

Now that the paint is all polished and waxed and whatnot, I decided it was time to finally move on to the tool box. The previous owner said he sat something on it (can't remember exactly what it was) and it leaked over the top and he couldn't get it off (notice the two circular stains and the stain going across the photo). I got it all off with a Brillo pad. It can still be seen, but you really have to look for it. I'm hoping it will polish out nicely. I tried polishing the box by hand with some Noxon and after about 35+ minutes I had about a 6" x 1' area done and sore fingers. It didn't turn out nice and shiny. It was very hazy and dull. After a slew of profanities, I decided to call it quits. I'll have to think of a better way. I've heard great stuff about Mothers Powerball and their PowerMetal polish.

ah, i see now. and i love the plasti-dip. It's help up well since november of last year on my grill and wheels. I had to replace my front bumper, and its now spray painted black, but the plasti-dip is so easy to touch up, i love it. It blends perfectly.
