I wish! However if I had the resources to make a buggy/trail rig/crawler, it would already be one.. I'm going to pull off as much as I can and then sell the rest to a yard hopefully another toyota is in the future, but it's not looking like it.

I can take some later when I get home.. Believe me, I would love to part it out and make more cash but my neighborhood will tow it much sooner than I can scrap it. I'm going to pull all of the easy stuff and go from there. My buddy offered me $90 for the front diff and front seats, I'd like more but oh we'll.. I created a part out thread, don't have the link, but if you guys want, need something, go post it up over there. Also, it turns over but will not stay running, that's another reason I want to scrap it, I need a car ASAP.
My friend pointed it towards a tree and panicked, it was almost too quick to react.

bummer... and i've seen actually quite a handful of yota's on CL right now for way to cheap, see if you can get one that needs something that you can salvage from your wreck.

that's the exact reason i'm going to be buying a second car for regular commuting. you might want to look into that option, as well (not saying i know whats best for you at the moment, but at least look at all your options first). plus, carollas and camrys can be had cheap-ish on craigslist

Stew, thats why I have only let my sister drive my 4Runner. I know she is responsible. Also, she would have her son with her usually when she borrowed it. I let my old roommate borrow it ONCE but that was because I was at work and the alternator/water pump belt on his Tacoma broke...and the Napa was like 1/2 mile away.
Are you getting any money from insurance? Is your "friend" that did this going to help you get a new vehicle?

I should know better than too let a friend drive, i've already had a close call before... Unfortunately insurance will not do anything, I think I might just sweep it under the rug to keep it off my record. My friend keeps telling me that he will give me $2,800 but I truly doubt his parents will allow it. I believe he owes me something, but I am not expecting to make a fortune off of this. I just need something to get me through the summer, then off to college I go. Another friend is selling a Honda passport for $1,300, I think i'm going to shoot for that.
I'm super bummed about it all, I had imagined myself with this truck for many many years to come, at least until it was an antique haha. It's still hard to believe that it's done, that I will never have the chance to enjoy my first car again I was calm yesterday but now i'm getting ready to hit a wall but i'm trying to stay positive about it...

I've only let my twin drive Turbo twice before because she helped me buy him, and once a friend only because she has a yota too and I was with her lol. but I've never even let my boyfriend or parents drive him lol.
I don't let anyone else drive him off road, even my sisters boyfriend that's been "teaching" me to wheel, AKA my spotter/tow truck

Personally, I would take him up on the $2800. Talk to his parents in a civil and mature manner. It IS his fault. He needs to suffer the consequences. He should get a summer (or second) job to pay you for your truck that he destroyed.
sorry about the lost. i agree with getting the $2800 if not more if you had more mods. that bumper alone is atleast $800... you shouldnt have to worry about what his parents think, he is responsible and should pay you for the damages. heck take the $2800 and sign the vehicle over to him. let him scrap it
