Post pics of the new shop when you get a chance Nate.

Cant wait till I can get my own garage. Nothings fun about working in the cold/rain or snow. Replaced the head gaskets on my pickup out in the driveway last winter. Good times

Yep...we've been bugging you for more pics since your moonroof thread. Didn't you fly to LA to buy it and drove all the way back to Portland or something?

Yup. That's me. It's been a total nightmare up until now. I've been working on it every day and every night since I got it the first week in December.

There haven't been many pics b/c every free moment has been spent either sourcing parts or putting them in. Been spending a lot of time undoing stupid wiring hacks and half ass repairs. Then I had a series of window leaks.

Hah that's a crazy long drive to buy a rig. Sounds like it'll be cherry in no time.

Edit - did you take 101 up the coast or hit I-5?

I wanted a 100% rust free body and I got one. I took I-5 the whole way and did it in less than 20 hours door to door. I would have taken my time if it had not been for the moonroof ejecting two hours into the trip, the heater resistor burning up and the virtually no headlights and wipers (turned out the chassis wasn't grounded).

I got home as quick as I could. Drove through snow and freezing fog in Shasta at 2am with no moonroof, no wipers and no defrost - not something I ever want to repeat. I almost crashed several times b/c I couldn't see.

The week before, the local dealer did a long distance 100-point check up for $400. They missed all of these things. I gave them an earful and got a little money back but they were not cool about it.

It was advertised and blessed by the dealer as being in much better shape and priced accordingly. I discovered some minor things upon my arrival. The seller wouldn't budge. I decided to still go with it because the body was in good shape, it seemed to drive okay at the time and the cost of a return ticket was also going to eat into my budget in pursuing the next one. This is my third 'old' vehicle so I know to expect issues, but this one ended up being way over the top of my other two.

Yeah. I'm redoing the entire interior right now. Putting in 2nd gen front and rear seats.

Nice. The shifter boots & center console look brand new...you do that yourself or are they actually new?

I restored the shifter trim & console myself. I used SEM vinyl paint - amazing results. The boot is new off of eBay.

Flares are Bushwacker Extend-A-Fender. I was debating on going with the Cut Outs, but decided against it. They probably would have worked a little better for the spray when turning the wheels. I still get plenty of mud/water on the sides when I turn. I do like the look though! On the Bushwacker site, they advertise 1.5" coverage for the Extend-A-Fenders and up to 3" on the Cut Outs.

I think I'm gonna be able to start moving some stuff in this weekend. So if I do, I'll get some pics up. We're gonna pour an apron out front next week also. Got a long way to go with the equipment. Haven't ordered a lift yet because I haven't decided what to go with. I need one that will support my F-450 safely and comfortably! My friend has a 11K 2 post in his shop and it supports the 450, but it just doesn't feel very stable. I may get a 4 post drive on with sliding jacks. Just not sure yet.
