Newbie Here
I just got this '86 4X4 pickup about 2 weeks ago. It had a blown motor (#1 rod through the block) but also came with a spare bone yard motor. Both had been sitting since 2005. I did the motor swap last week with new pilot bearing, TOB, put 5 gallons of gas and a new battery in it and she started right up and drove on down the road. Brakes work, shifts fine. I like my new to me Yota!

stuwy, thanks for your concern, it really means alot! I'll start off with I always wear my seatbelt on-road (unless im just running to a neighbors house or whatever). but we were on our way to the farm, and riding through the feilds i dont bother to put it on because im in and out of the truck non-stop, plus i dont do over 10mph...
anyway, we were just riding through the woods to get to the farm, and its a tight trail so we were in 2low just creeping along.
what happened was we came up on the ruts, (wich were muddy as heck) so i put it in 4x4 and just put the pedal to the floor. our top speed at the time was 15 AT most, and ifs sucks up the bumps big time, so we werent getting thrown around. Of course, if something were to happen, both me and my buddy know exactly what to do, we both passed a class about farm machinery safety, wich covered anything and everything from walking and tripping over a hole, to cropduster accidents.

Took the top off the rig and threw on the bikini...causing a lot of head turning while driving the streets of Central Cali!

Thanks vasinvictor, it was a very easy mod and the siblings love riding in the back seat without having the sun hit their faces!
It's kinda cool to have people sit in the back and getting stopped because people are always asking me how cool it looks and that if this was a modified Yota because they've never seen a truck like mine....guess people don't get out too often

Great looking rig, 4Runnerguy! Bikini looks great! I've had to hold off, being in L.A., from tearing off the top this summer..... But I'll be getting an alarm, TODAY, ...so hopefully I can feel a LITTLE more comfy with leaving it in parking lots for 30min at a time! lol.
when I camp, I pull the top most often and lock it to a tree,... so I WANT a Bikini... Guess it's time to call the Wabbit when I can afford it! lol
