Okay - For fun I'll list all the Yotas I've had over the years. This is my 4Runner story.
It doesn't start out well: My first Yota truck I got in High School. Traded my 89 Supra for it back in 1996. Had it only 3 months until a lady ran a stop sign. I still miss that truck.
It wasn't until 02 that I found myself back in a familiar truck. My dad bought this new when I was 6 years old in 1987. My car had dumped on me and while I was rebuilding it, he gave me this to drive. I sold it a year later with 250k original miles in great shape with the original timing chain. Another one I wish I hadn't gotten rid of.
Back in Summer of 87 or 88 off-roading in Colorado -
~15 years later - (notice the different front bumper... oops, my fault)
After getting the car rebuilt, I decided I was tired of working on cars. Sold the car and finally found this after months searching: Beautiful 99 Limited with Rear Locker.
Find a steal on a 1990 with a seized engine. Figure I'll fix up and sell or play with. Girlfriend decides she'd like it instead of her Accord. Lost this one when she left. Reaffirmed my affinity for 1st and 3rd gens.
Less than 2 years after purchasing the 99 my luck has once again run out and I'm the lucky SOB in the wrong place at the wrong time when a kid loses control of his car on a wet interstate while he's passing me. Result:
In need of a quick replacement, I go ahead and purchase my dad's 98 model that his wife has been driving since they bough it new. Not as nice as the 99 Limited, but mechanically in better shape and serves me well for a couple of years until I decide I don't need it anymore and sell it.
CURRENT RIDE: Feeling the need for another 4Runner, this time I decided I wanted to find a nice 1st gen for a daily driver and occassional offroad toy to save the miles and tires on my nice car. Found an 86 in great shape with 70k original miles. Not to say it doesn't have it's share of quirks, but what else would we do with our time if we couldn't tinker on our rides, right?

Picked this 92 up over the summer with only 80 something thousand miles on it. Only thing I've added so far is the bed box.
Challenger bed box

This is my first 4runner as well as my first post. i bought this rig this summer its a 89 sr5 with now 73k miles ive put about 5k on it since ive gotten it and ive loved every mile... i just got my student loan money an plan to get some black steelies and bfg mud terrain tires. i also need to replace the springs in the back.
this might not be the best thread to ask this but i have 3 questions
1) im not sure if 32" bfg mt would be the best choice does anyone have and input?
2) should i get 2" or 3" downey springs in the rear
3) should i get 15x7 or 15x8 cragar d windows
i know this is kind of a troll post but im in law school so i dont really have that much time to search any forums let alone one on a new hobbie id like to get into. that said i dont have time nor the tools to work on my rig myself... thanks for reading this an i hope to frequent this forum a lot more.
