If you're getting 16 with the auto, you're doing pretty good. Pretty darn good. Most of the auto 3.0s get much worse mileage than the 5 speed. I've heard several of the guys report about 14 mpg.

This is what the EPA estimates were....not that different that what guys get here, just not what newer rigs are getting. Remeber the 3.0 came out in the late 80's, with late '80s technology.

Fuel Economy (city / hwy): Four-Wheel Drive

3.0L 150 hp V6
4-Speed Automatic Overdrive : 14 / 16 mpg
5-Speed Manual Overdrive : 15 / 18 mpg

With my 33"s I was getting between 10 and 12 mpg of course that doesn't take into account my speedo being off by 10 mph. Also my CEL indicated the O2 sensor was toast. since a complete tuneup, new O2 sensor and manual hubs I've been getting between 14 and 16 mpg. I'm a happyboy, then again it don't take much to make me happy.

I've had my "new" '94 3.0 AT for 3 tanks now, and I'm up to 13.5 with 32s
(in town only). Well, my wife did help a friend move, and if she drove it like she drives her car, it might get better next fillup. For the record, about 6 years ago when I had my '90 with 50k mileson the odo., it got almost identical mileage with stock tires.

I wish I could get that kind of gas mileage.
