I also have the old EPC 1&2 running. Had to do some file editing and installation contortions to get it to work. Kind of a pain.

I got them to work. First thing to do is extract the files. Do not burn the EPC1 and EPC2 folders themselves, but only burn the files and folders inside them. Then, when you burn, rename the disc to 19950622E1 for EPC1 and 19950322E2 for EPC2.

This is all specified here: http://www.yankeetoys.org/Documents/EPC_FAQ.htm

Then you have to install. Insert the first disc and goto the EPC folder. Here you will find a setup.exe and a readme.txt.

the readme text will tell you how to set it up. I believe you MUST set it up for the European version. After installation, don't forget to set up the cd as specified in the readme and below.

8 - From the MAIN MENU select CD SETUP

9 - From the CD SETUP MENU select CD SETUP

10 - Check the EUROPEAN VERSION tickbox

11 - Click ADD and select the two following items:

A1 CD-ROM
A2 CD-ROM

12 - Click F10 Exec button
Don't know quite how to use the program yet, but that got everything working. hope this helps

The person who wrote this program for Toyota needs to be kicked in the balls ninja style. I have spent a good hour dicking around with it and I get nothing but a Toyota parts screen that is worthless. I have tried CD set up as per instructions.

After all this I give BMW credit where credit is due they sell their parts CD over the counter and it installs like a breeze.

You have to remember that this version of EPC was written 10 years ago and storage capacities, CD use models have changed dramatically. The CD was intended for parts counter people not the general public. Once you know how to navigate it, it goes pretty fast.

This EPC you guys are talking about is long out of date and not used by any North American Dealers.

Yes it is out of date however, so are our vehicles. Looking up the correct current parts number is as easy as looking up your part # with the EPC, then going to a parts website and they do the cross-check for you & give up to date part numbers. This has worked pretty well for me. Glad I got this program going.

Howdy Folks:

Dunno how good the EPC off torrents is: I pulled it yet the North America parts was corrupt - I asked another site and someone says they have the 2007 edition - dunno if they will share

As for cross referencing - I have diesel Toyota's now - LN 67 and 2 BJ60's - the Toyo dealer I use keeps telling me - Bad No.s - or no longer available - so I have to order my parts from other countries

Hope someone shares an updated version - I purchased one 4 years back specific for Landcruisers - for 5$ - sure an old version but just to have the fotos to email to parts counter is great

Cheers:

I really don't know why this software HAS to be so coveted. There is no real reason Yota can't make this available to everyone who wants it. I talked to the guy at the parts counter up in ST peters, MO last week & he said that the EPC they have is actually like 3 programs working together. Not sure of the truth in that, but if it's the case that is silly.

As far as the updated versions people claim to have, they need to put up or stop starting rumors.

If you are looking for diesel parts you might try going to a Hino dealer... Hino is toyota's heavy truck division, they might have listing or cross reference on the parts you need, but it may take some time to find a dealer who'll work with you on that...
Sadly toyota seems to be making there parts availability country/market specific nowadays...

Howdy Aviator:

I will keep searching for the Hino Dealer who will assist me - So far bupkis ..... And the toyota fork lift dealer as well - what is interesting is to hear them on the other end of the fone saying " I've never heard Toyota put this engine in a passenger vehicle "-- But hope springs eternal -
Of course when I do find the one who is assist - I will share the info

Cheers:

I have the older EPC running off my thumb drive, it's kind of nice to be able to hook it up to a friends PC and bring up nice pics and part numbers.
