how much was your lockrite jay??? just for comparison here. I gotta order me some of these soon but my brother was gonna sell me his lockrite so I dont want to just go buy one.... does aussie make one to fit in the 7.5 IFS fronts?

My v6 Lockright was 219.99 plus shipping
The 4cyl lockrights are 249.99 plus shipping
And just for refrence the IFS 7.5" lockright is 245.99 plus shipping

thanks jay... ya matt I am going to bcit to finish up my apprenticeship at some point in the next year or so. I need to get a locker in my truck and tax time seems like a good time to do it since they changed the tax crap in our favor for once. gotta get some crap from my brother and see what shakes out, i may end up goin aussie in rear lockrite front , but I dunno yet. I need a stupid solid axle... stupid crap

Just checked on the shipping of my Aussie Locker and it in Canadian customs, so it is unofficially in the country. Going to be ordering my Redline HD Shock Proof gear oil.

First impressions:
Its heavier but smaller than expected. With 14 parts, it seems a pretty crude device and it is hard to imagine that it actually works. I have no doubt it will though. The instructions are pretty clearly written- about halfway through reading them now.

10:30pm - 3:00am for my lockright install. Never touched a diff before that. Longest amount of time was spend removing the ring gear since it's a 2 pinion.

I emailed Aussie about a 4 pinion locker 2 weeks ago, they said "4 weeks"... but if what I'm reading is true, perhaps Aussie can't help me.
Lock-Rite has a 32" limit on their tire size, but I'm running a 35. How much can it really handle? 3VE, all stock, auto..=not a lot of HP.

sorry to jack your thread, but i have a question about the Aussie locker...i am considering getting one for my pickup because i hear great things about them and the price is just right. so my question is, if i were to only install one locker would it be better for it to go in the front or the rear?
i have no personal experience with these aussie lockers or lockrights, but it seems most people put them in the rear which only makes sense to me if you are always climbing things and more vehicle weight is in the rear, but for moderate offroading, it would be better in the front? also, if it is in the front, do you still get the bucking at low speeds/in a turn, or does this only happen if the front hubs are locked?

Most guys will lock the rear first because 70% of the time, a rear locker is all you really need. You wont get any bucking in the front if the hubs are unlocked. It might get hard to turn the wheels if the locker stays locked (with hubs locked).

Hello, I'm the next highjacker of this thread. Sorry. I am interested to hear how you like your locker. I am thinking of an Aussie for my '85. I really like the idea of putting it in the front, I have manual hubs so driving around in 2wd would not be effected at all. 4wd on the trail would improve, but how about 4wd such as snowy highway travel. Would you lose lateral traction and have the front slide around? Could you just lock one hub or would you just pull too much?
