now my new though is im just going to go 3.4L sc with the 7th injector what do you guys think about this i can get the motor harness and ecu kinda cheap around 700 bucks or so gotta talk to my boss again then ill need the motor mounts and bell housing right well what else am i missing????
fuel pump going to be fine or should i do that to? cause then i would have the power im wanting and the mileage on gas i want lol let me know what you guys think ok

From my understanding it does not make sense to swap in a 3.4 where a 22re once lived- too much work and $$$$. Look at some of Toyota's newer 4bangers- there are write ups.

even the later 4 bangers are set up for a driver's side drop on the transfer case so all that will have to be figured into the equation.
you can rebuild the 22re for about 1000, give or take.

I think a 3.4L in a first gen 'runner would be sweet!
Couldn't you swap in whatever supra motor is close to the 22re? Or did the supra have the 22re?......

Yeah, its 2.7L. I'm pretty sure that swap would be with as much hassle as with a 22re-3.4L. On the 3rz, the exhaust is on the passenger side, compared to the 22re on the drivers. You would have to switch a lot of stuff around. its do able..but probably just as much work as with a 3.4L..if not more.

yeah i would love the 3.4L but after thinking and looking and what not its going to be so hard and the 3rz i going to be hard to just cause the exhaust is on the pass side even the 7mgt is on the pass side i guess the 22re was the lone ranger on toyotas line up to have a driver side exhaust drop,
coming to think about money now i just rebuilt it about a year ago and used felpro gaskets i know i know i know im doing a cyl leak down test tomorrow to see how all 4 cly are doing tell me if its just the valve guides or if its something inside cause the oil burning and bad miss and low idle ive had for some time now.
all in all my last rebuild was about 1200 bucks new cam, crank, rods, bearings, rings and gasket set i honed her myself i think that was a bad idea and the fact i reused the pistons i think thats were i went wrong?
so this next time and the last time!!! im going to be getting the block .20 over or .40 over what you think? just cause it can be done should i just go .20 just incase i have to rebuild her again down the road i hope over a few years and over 250k in miles? and im going to be getting new pistons, rings, timing cover, oil pump, timing chain with the metal slides, and get everything super cleaned and washed
just a few more questions.....
as i rebuild my 22re with said above im thinking about doing a 2in body lift what do you think if im going to be doing a 4in sas would that be ok or just way to tall and top heavy? i wanna and love to go trail riding mudding and what not but i dont wanna flop her on her side again it sucks and hurts
thanks for all your help guys thank you thank you thank you thank you

Remember, we can rebuilt her, make her stronger........maker her faster.....make her more off road capibable.....we have the technology.
Sound familiar? Now all we need is the bonics sounds and your good to go, Allan. Just remember, when you get her all back 2gether, break her in THE RIGHT WAY this time.......
