oil
Its probably a bad case of blow by, do compression test, in Boulder @5000 ft, a good engine would have about 155 lbs.if its a 22R

Its toast
First to the guy who asked what year and engine...do you really think that there are engines where its OK to have oil in your throttle body??? I just concurred with the machine shop where I hang on cold days....your engine is toast. Theres only one way oil can get in there and thats thru the valves via bad rings. So just run it till it quits and save your $$ for a new engine, oh and yes oil can come thru the PVC but it would just get sucked into the CC if engine was in decent shape.

I agree, it is NOT ok or normal to have wet oil in the throttle body. Yes, I know that. A quick search of this board and others yielded several ideas (while not specific for this engine): 1) compression blow by and 2) PCV valve issues.
A valid compression test with low pressures would lend support to your hypothesis.

Well there is a possibility that if your PVC was so plugged to the point of no flow (AIR pRESSURE), oiL could get into the TB/plenium but if its plugged, its prob do to so much oil gettig up to the valve itself. and do to the fact it won't start anymore theres prob. no compression. sorry for your loss, just calling a spade a spade I love my truck too

Ok, on the non-starting issue: Have you checked your fuses? It seems you had a thread in June 09 with a similiar non-starting issue and it was because your EFI fuse popped as diagnosed and repaired by the dealer.

Yep, doesnt sound good. At the very least, a valve job is in order. As expensive and detailed a job as removing/replacing the heads are on this engine, it would be a gamble to not consider an engine rebuild. As for the no-start, you may be getting enough blowby pressure into the intake system to affect the AFM reading. Mine did. A real PIA to start everymorning. Out of neccesity, I had to continue running mine 2.5 hrs up and back everyday, as well as running all day on a wetlands project in 4wd. Mine was so bad, I had to run a catch bottle on the vent hose from the valvecover to the TB, and had to run seafoam every weekend thru the intake. I was catching up to a qt of oil and re-using it every 60 miles. Yes, when I get back stateside, a 3.0 rebuild is #1 priority

ya im thinking im in really bad shape..... i have spark, i dont think it is a fuel problem because my car wont even start with starter fluid. I need to do a compression check next.
I was checking how much air my throttle was sucking and it didnt really feel like much what diagnosis does that give?

It depends on how much oil.
If you have high milage and are burning alot of oil you probably have blow by from worn cylinders /rings.
Over filling can cause alot of oil being blown out of your PCV also.
On any throttle body that has the PCV hose near the throttle plate your going to have some loose and baked on oil.
The oil may or may not have anything to do with your starting problem.
Are you burning alot of oil?
How many miles on the engine?
