No-Cut ZUK Mod...our turn

On my mod, I used front springs, cut down a bit. The large diameter coil fits over the top bump stopper very well, and the smaller diameter coil fits over the bottom rubber bump stop, centering it.

eager to keep this going/ordered my springs today. Will post results when they show... Stoked on fixes such as this that are for normal people that drive their 4x4 to work everyday but still want it to walk up trails here and there.

*free springs*
I have a set of jeep TJ front coils that I cut down, they raised my sagging rear approx. 3" on my 86' 4Runner. They served me well for 2 years until I got my new AllPro rear lift installed. If anyone wants them they are welcome to them (just pay shipping) time to pass them on to someone that can use them!

Ordered my springs yesterday using the ebay link...AJ from the sellers account was careful to contact me to insure I got the correct spring rate/was super cool... Price for me was about $93 with shipping. Let AJ know to check this thread out- maybe make a non ebay deal for folks that hit him up through Yotatech.
Anyhow... they're on the way.

So I'd like to do this mod on my 88 4runner but I'd feel better if I could avoid metal on metal contact. Would something like this work? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Energy-4-6101R-Coil-Spring-Insulator-Set-Rear-Upper-Lower-/121597687924?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c4fc97874&vxp=mtr
If so, anyone know where I could find some to fit the 5" springs the OP used?

Good idea to not have metal to metal contact. I shopped for similar myself but did not find this.
It would really depend on which spring you plan to use and dimensions of the insulators.
If you do find out dimensions, please share on ur build post.

I was planning on trying the same spring size as the OP but most of the spring isolators/insulators I've found are just labeled for the make and model of the vehicle rather than dimensions. I may try calling JEGS or Summit, they seem to have a lot of them.
For those of you that have used XJ or TJ springs, what's the internal diameter? Similiar to the black magic springs?

Hey guys,
First time post on the forum but i've reading for a long time and its helped out a lot! , I previously did this no cut zuk mod on my 87 4runner as a temporary fix for the sagging springs but now I just finished replacing the leaf springs so I have the coil springs left over. They are the Blackmagic 11" springs. I don't want to throw them out so if anyone in the SoCal area needs them to perform this mod you a welcome to have them for free if you come to pick them up.
(sorry for posting on this thread tried to post to the classified section but it said i did not have account permissions)
Just shoot a PM if you want them!

I'm curious... What replacement springs did you use, and how your rear suspension sits now? Got distance from lip of wheelwell to edge of rim (15-inch)? TIA

I used the OME Leaf springs as a replacement, it was a pretty straight forward install but a serious workout.
Right now its exactly 15 inches but I think it will settle down a bit.
