I bought my 1995 Nissan Hardbody in that exact same condition...and got 5 years out of it before pieces of the frame started flaking away and I had to have a buddy weld in patches. If you enjoy projects that one is not so far gone you can't save it, but it's a lot of work. It's really up to you what you want to do, just don't pay close to that asking price.

Thats in pretty good shape to most vehicles around here frame wise for that year. Most already have patches on the frame. Thats why I went down into the states to get my 92 to put my diesel in. Or Manitoba is good as they do not use salt on their roads. Here I don't think they use sand just salt haha. But I do think that you could do a bit better price than that if you do more looking.

Ya, Manitoba/Sask. vehicles are supposed to be really good...too bad I'm a few days drive away. I checked out trucktrader and craiglist and there's been a few gems over that way. I've been also keeping a look out for an FZ80,FJ60and BJ62..I think that's the code. I'd love a first gen runner or p/u but they are usually sold in rough shape and I currently don't have the resources or capability to conquer such a feat....in a few years. I'm just at my wits end...sunk major$$ into current p/u but still will need a few things in the future. Maybe this is an oman...blessing in disguise and a sweet, well priced FJ40 will come my way....mmmmmmm

region of Nepal and Tibet.
Sasquatch - Hairy women of Canada hehe .........AKA - Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, is a figure in North American folklore alleged to inhabit remote forests, mainly in the Pacific northwest region of the United States and the Canadian province of British Columbia.

Seem's a bit pricey, but it does look nice. It also looks like most the people responding have never seen RUST. Living here in the heart of the salt belt it looks pretty average for a 13 year old vehicle that was rustproofed when new. Winter time here means salt, salt, salt, I don't think I've ever seen sand or calcium chips anywhere. The main thing is how solid the frame is, should be easy to check. From your pics the frame would pass for excellent around here, mine was 5X worse before sand blasting and re-rustproofed (the worst spots micrometered at 1/32" metal loss). Get'm down to $4000 inc tax, title, license and fees.

That truck looks nice. Coming from a place where we used lot's of salt and destroyed many vehicles... I'd say offer him $3500-$4000 or wait for something else to come.

Ya I think we're gonna go for less as suggested above. I won't be able to get at that rust for a year...hey Dublin, how did you sandblast it? Did you do it yourself? We're going to be taking off the running boards cause it rusted at the rockers....good cover up though. Buddy phoned today and asked if we're committing....I said only if we get to check it out on a hoist then we'll make the call. They kept saying..."oh well the guys in the shop are busy...blah,blah,blah"...I'm not signing jack until I get a good look from below. If it is absolutely, positively surface rust I will make a cheaper offer demanding it to be safetied and subtract that BS admin fee. I'm not totaly set on this so if it doesn't pan out there gotta be something better out there....and we won't feel that post-purchase dissonance and crappy feeling for buying off sleezbags....tough call...and ya, how 'bout those Hairy's in North B.C? Mmmmmmm, hairy

Had a buddy that does sand blasting, bead blasting and powder coating do it for putting his 383 together and in his 4x4 mud drag rig. He had it in his shop on a Roto Lift for about a week and said half the time was prep work protecting lines, bushings, hoses, ect. Be sure to give yours a good looking over and don't be afraid to tap, bang, poke, scrape and prod any areas that look questionable. From the pics I don't think you have much to worry about, but a good visual inspection will be the proof. I re-undercoated it myself in a friends shop (he formulates and tests rust proofing for the military). The stuff was almost like candle wax going on and dried as hard as chip guard. Used it because it held up the best in his brine accelerator.

I'm sure that's true, but with Craigslist & eBay, & just the plain ol' internet, I don't see why someone has to go to a dealer and overpay for a decent truck. I bought my Runner from a used car lot, but offered a lil over half the asking price and guess what? I got it! 45% off!
