Newbie Banana :: Changed Oil, knocked off cord, truck won't start
Hey Yall. Hoping you guys can answer my newbie banana questions.
Got a 1989 Toyota Truck Manual 5 spd, 22RE engine V6.
Decided I should change the Oil. No problem. Oil filter on incredibly tight, have to go get a oil filter wrench to bang it loose. Probably hit all kinds of other cords. Get it off, hand tighten it back on. Fill her up with oil. Go to start it the lights turn on and everything put it doesn't start or turn over.
Discover a yellow cord loose with no home. Figure it has something to do with the starter but I can't find its home. I have attached some pictures. Any help or advice would be fantastic.
In the picture you can see the new oil filter, the loose yellow cord (I think this is the problem, not 100% sure though).

WHERE DOES THE YELLOW CORD GO!?!?
Thanks!
Joe

It has been rewired so not 100% sure, but you might want to check the bottom front(meaning towards the grill) for a unhooked wire that little black plastic box looking thing.

Lamps use cords, vehicles use wires.
Like others have said, the wire goes to the starter.
Why were you banging on the filter wrench? Next time, use a longer lever.
Who ever did that rewire, didn't know what they were doing.

This is going to be interesting !!
The fact it even ran is amazing .
Why would you double up that yellow wire??
I wonder was that yellow wire shorted while cranking and took out the fusible link?? If that has not been removed because it looked different.
