the new Toy (Unmolested 88' 4runner)
#42
I have a Killer Toy softtop. I looked at a few different ones and decided on this one because in my opinion was the best design.
The side windows zip on and off. They don't roll up. I didn't really like the look of the roll up side windows on the other brands, that's just my opinion. It only takes about a minute to zip the windows back on. I have 2 sets of windows...one clear and one set tinted. I'll have to find my pictures with the windows zipped in.
The one thing that really sold me on this top is that you can actually use your rear window with it. It's designed so that you can still roll up your rear window and it seats firmly up against the top. It definitely cuts down the road noise a bit and it feels more sturdy that way.
BTW, I also do have the ZUK mod on my truck. I use the hitch rack all the time for my bikes and it has definitely helped out a lot!
If your interested in this top unfortunately they don't make them anymore. Shawn from Killer Toy tops stopped making them a few years ago because he just didn't have time to invest in making them anymore. He hand made everyone he did.

Update ZUK Mod completed. Very happy with the results. I went with the 12" 120lb black magic springs recommended by ZUK's website. I made my own lower retainers from 1/8" plate and 2 1/2" pipe and cut the upper bump stops to about an 1 1/4" in length. Also installed some rear Bilsteins.
I was initially concerned that I would have some rake like I have seen in a lot of other ZUK mod posts but mine came out very level. It raised the rear about 2" over all. No squeaks or rattles.

A few updates. Fully detailed and new TG rear bumper installed. Hopefully will be complete soon. I must say I have fallen in love with this rig over the last few months.
