new or rebuilt carb question..
This morning I did a valve cover gasket and timing chain inspection my buddies truck. His PVC valve had not been changed in its entire life and I couldnt believe the mess on the top of that motor. My best friend knows next to nothing about his rig. He has 1985 pu. Its carb is shot. In addition to putting on a new header for him I need to change his carb. I have done a few search's and the jury is out on which is the best for the money. I would appreciate a bit of advice on what type of carb and where to pick one up.
Thanks

people say aisin carbs(stock) are as good or better than aftermarket carbs, but ive had nothing but trouble with my stock carb over the years.
im sure a rebuild kit would help tremendously if you think you can do it.
ive used this site http://www.bluebassdesign.com/boonin/carb_faq/
and the fsm for little fixes on my carb.
with that said...once i have the funds im pullin this tired 22r/shot carb and just goin with a newer fuel injected motor.
