all i could find on a google search for ya was this pic. your item looks kinda like it's in the top right of this pic:
only thing i saw in the diagram that looked like it could be it was the gasket inside (not outside) the primary main jet. pictured below, just above the "main diaphragm"
good luck man!

all i did was take the top of the carb off..then i tilted the rest of the carb sideways and halfway upside down..then that little piece hit the table...so it wasn't being held in by anything.....so im still lost..and those pics are way too small and blurry to read dude..lmao

ok so i'm still not finding what i need to know ...this is horrible..it makes me think that this piece doesn't go to the carb.....maybe the person that rebuilt it before me accidentally left it in there?..lmao..i doubt it..but still it's always a possibility hahahaha..
i THINK i might have found the spot just now.......maybe...it looks like it could possibly go here
with out my little mystery piece..then that arm moves around A LOT on that stud..but with it..the movement is minimal...but i want to be sure it goes here and not somewhere else before i start puttin the carb back together..lol

wait a second.......the fast idle cam stuff is engaged by that coil whenever 12v gets applied to it...it chokes it...therefore engages the fast idle....wow..didn't realize that until just now...maybe i actually do know what im doing

ok got everything back together..and i double checked it all!..all i need to do is tap the holes for the electric choke....and then figure out which base plate gaskets to use...
there's three different ones..and i know i'll use 2 of them..but idk which 2..lol help me out with that one?
one of them looks EXACTLY like the bottom of the base plate..but the original gasket that came off of the base plate doesn't look like its the right one..
thats the bottom of the base plate...
the gasket on top is the gasket i took off it, its not the factory one..its the one that got put on there whenever somebody rebuilt it.
this is one of the gaskets in my kit...it fits the bottom of the base plate PERFECT...but idk if it supposed to be used since the one that came off of it doesnt look like that..
anybody?????..if i was a betting man..i'd say the one that i have on there is the right one..but yet again i just wanna be sure..LOL..
and why did i get 3 different gasket's for the base plate...i know which one goes on top...but that would mean that i have an extra..for what??
this is all the base plate gaskets i have...the one on the left is the one i think goes on the bottom of the base plate...the one in the middle goes between the base plate and carburetor, but the one on the right looks exactly like the 'cooked' (old) one i took off of the bottom of the base plate whenever i took the carb off.....so whats up with that???

got the carb mounted..truck runs..but it STILL stumbles after about 3/4th's throttle..........
any more than 3/4's (when the bigger butterfly that's down at the base of the carb starts to open) then it just starts to cut out and falls flat on it's face.....idk wtf this problem is...it's been doing it for a long time...i just figured that when i lubed everything up during the rebuild that it would help it.....but it didnt..i want to get a video for you guys but i only have the video camera on my phone..and my computer won't upload them for some reason....
other than that, the only problem i'm havin is it's running a little lean i think...cuz it will stumble (this is at 1100 rpms) until i put my hands over the top of the carb (therefore only letting a little air in...instead of a whole gob) and it will idle like a dream...take my hands off..and it stumbles and eventually dies..
im gonna mess around with the mixture screw and see what happens..and the fuel bowl sight glass has a line of fuel just right above the middle of the sight glass...so i think im good there
just wanted to share this with ya guys!..even though it seems like you guys are just ignoring my thread..LOL just kidding i've gotten alot of help through PM's

ok guys so now all the sudden it's dumping a LOT of fuel into the carb.....im gettin a big ole plume of black smoke out the exhaust...lol
wtf..i had it running fine a few minutes ago..now it's doin this??
the only thing i changed was that i adjusted the choke one turn....just like the guy over at the 22r carburetor FAQ page on bluebassdesign said to do it..
and then it idled fine (fast idle) but the choke flap will not open now?...at all.it just stays open about 1/8in alllll the time..even if i push it all the way open with my finger then i just springs back?
and i also noticed that whenever i push the choke flap open it raises the idle like crazy..lol
i believe i need to take it to a toyota specialist and get him to make it run right...because i am getting fed up with dealing with it...............

could the problem be a vacuum leak????
somebody said it could be a vacuum leak..maybe that's why there's 2 different gaskets that could go between the carburetor base plate and the manifold..LOL

ok...it runs like a bat out of hell....but at less than 1500rpms it stumbles and is dumping a LARGE amount of fuel into the intake...im talkin A LOT...black smoke pouring out of the carb...
and it runs a little better once warmed up..
im thinking Vacuum leak...but that'd have to be a BIG vacuum leak wouldn't it????
the only vacuum leak that i'm aware of is on the Choke Opener Diaphragm...
anybody wanna she some light on this???
