New LC Engineering 3VZE Header
#41
Lets wait and hear what his exhaust spec's are before making that call.
IF he is running a 2 1/2" exhaust and he says he gained top end power and lost bottom end pull, that's not the headers fault, that's the exhaust volume and area as many guys with Downey headers and the Downey exhaust system which is 2 1/2" say the exact same thing - that they lost a tiny bit of bottom end power but gained lots of top end power. Now if he is running the stock exhaust or a 2 1/4" exhaust and he lost low end power/torque then it would be a problem in my mind.
Also - I didn't see anything about $1200 USD for these headers. They are still listed for $799 on the LCE website. It's just after shipping and all that BS they might be a bit more but if they are a high quality product, they provide a good gain, etc, they might be worth it if they take away or don't have the headaches/issues/design flaws the cheaper Downey's are supposedly known for (i.e. clearance issues, etc.).

I just got back from my first run and I have to give the headers two thumbs up!
I also have a GTech Pro but I doubt it would tell much that would be usefull. I should have done a before and after test....

You mentioned before that there was a problem with the clearance of the crossover pipe and you were running in 2wd until it was sorted out. Was this a problem with the product from LCE or something to do specifically with your truck? Is it solved yet?
Thanks,
Jason

I am running a 2.25" exaust right to the back with a 2.25" flowmaster cat and 2.25" muffler.
I just got back from my first run and I have to give the headers two thumbs up!

So that is 2 1/4" MANDREL bent or PRESSURE bent pipes?

This header is not for SAS trucks...
LC are sending me some pipe and elbows so that I can modify the crossmember myself.

I must have missed something in a previous post. I wasn't aware that the problems were present because you were SAS'd. That makes me feel much better. Where abouts in Canada are you anyways?
Thanks,
Jason

Here is what the cross over looks like:
And because I have a SAS on my truck here is (was) the problem:
and
I made the rest of the exaust myself. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves:
The mud should not affect how it runs!

The only thing I wonder about is what size are the Crossover pipes before they join, and then the single pipe that they join together in to? It's tough to tell -I'd guess it's either 1 3/4" or 2" for each of the crossover pipes and then either 2" or 2 1/4" when they join for the single pipe before the cat.

Hey Canadian Toy,
I'm just curious if when you talked to LCE when you ordered your headers, if they spec'd how much performance gain they figured you'd pick up? I wonder if they have any dyno charts.
Also, I'm curious who else is ordering/installing these headers? Green93 I know you are, who else?
