New ignition cylinder lock activates buzzer
Here is the problem, I just installed a new ignition cylinder lock in my 86 4Runner and now the buzzer goes off every time I have the door open. The strange thing is the keys aren't even in the ignition when it does this. I disconnected the buzzer so it won't go off anymore, and the new ignition cylinder appears to be fine and doing its job. Everything else I checked (radio, clock, back window, lights) isn't getting any juice when the keys are out of the ignition, so it appears they're fine too. Does anyone know what's going on with the buzzer? I'm fine with leaving it disconnected, but I'm not sure if there is a bigger problem that I might be missing and that will lead to problems down the road. Any help would be appreciated.

I found the problem. The lock pin on the ignition cylinder wasn't fully extended when I put it in. I guess that was enough to make it think the key was still in.
