Best upgrade is to inspect, clean wiring to bare, shiny metal, coat with dielectric grease and tighten.
L and S wire do not carry load. They are merely "Information" wires. IG carries minimal current to "excite" the alternator windings.

just run a new wire from bat to alt with a maxi fuse, and make sure you test rev it as high as you plan to when driving.
Leaving stock "B" wire and adding "upsized" wire this way will bypass many of the stock fuses/FL's and not be safe (below).

Redeth, Chefyota4x4 and I deleted the stock "B" wire and ran "upgrade" B wire from alt, to proper fuse to battery.
Stock 80-amp FL continues to protect circuit, like always.
Alt and Batt work directly had in hand.
