Didn't buy one yet, working on it though. I'd like to get it in before winter it over.

OK, guys, I have decided to go with the 32/36. Does anyone know If I need the idle cutoff solenoid with it, does it already come with it? Also anyone running it with the stock mechanical fuel pump? with/ without regulator, had to change the factory jets? Will the choke have to be reset? Also what emissions stuff will I have to "delete" with it? What about the front breather connection? I know it already has provisions for the pcv. If using a regulator with factory fuel pump, what do you have the psi set to. Thanks. Let me know of any other stuff you may think I might overlook.

I don't want to deviate from the topic too much, but I am curious as to how much an EFI conversion is costing you guys. This is directly aimed at the comment that said "an EFI conversion was out of my budget at the time". I mean, you can get everything for about $400 AUD down here and the 22re is rare as. I would assume EFI gear is cheper in the states due to its availability bringing it down near the same cost as an aftermarket carb?

Just curious...

i think that the task itself is daunting. im thinking about swaping to a 22re from my 20r in my first gen 4x4(ive got a build thread going!). and you basically have to rebuild your wiring harness COMPLETELY to do it "right". so maybe he meant the task was out of his MENTAL budget. lol. im thinking about just slapping a used 22r in there for the same reason..

Nah, woulda been easy since my motor was out, however, it was either change the tank to use the efi pump, or get an electric efi pump, wiring harness and then still need, computer, upper and lower intake, fuel rail, injectors. Even at a $400 cost, still was out of budget during the rebuild.

Since it's nice out side today for while anyway, I thought of getting a head start on the carb swap, is there any side effects of removing the emissions stuff when the stock carb is still on that I am gonna have to remove when I add the 32/36?

I might have to run like this for about a week, since I work second shift and the carb won't be here till Monday. Might not even see it till Tuesday if it don't come before I leave for work.

In regards to the egr, I can just remove and plug the vac lines to it and not remove the egr for now right? Eventually I think I am gonna make a block off out of some aluminum flashing and put it behind the egr and "hook" the vac lines back up to pass visual if I ever need to. I will do the same with the air injection tubes on the header as well.

Has anyone had to rejet the 32/36 using a header and 268 cam? If so which ones did you go with? Did you change just the idle or secondary as well. Anyone running the double pump jet at all? If I don't like the response from it I might go that route as well.

OH and no flaming me for removing/disabling the emissions. With no emissions I probably will put out less than the ones who have everything hooked up "properly" since I only put about 5000 miles on this thing year. Which technically almost makes me emissions exempt anyway.
